Generations of TruthBuilding, Enjoying and Destroying refer to generations of values or
convictions. It describes is the natural deterioration of godly values
and convictions when passed from one generation to the next. Our objective
is to pass on proper values to the next generation because our values
and personal convictions focus and direct our lives. Basic TruthsIndividuals have a conscience which can respond to God. We must be
faithful to communicate spiritual truths to the next generation because
God has commanded us to do so (Dt. 6) and because they genuinely have
a great capacity to understand them. Doctrinal StatementThe sixty-six books of the Bible are the God-breathed, inerrant,
infallible words of God given through the Holy Spirit through human
authors. What does Lamp & Quill believe about other significant
areas of Christian theology? Bible TranslationsOne of the advantages the Jews had was that the Scriptures were given
in their own language. They had no need to translate God's directives
and encouragement into another language in which the nuances of meaning
could be somewhat ambiguous at times. However, they often neglected
the benefits they were given. Do we treat the Scriptures as lightly
and as neglectfully as they often did? Do we wait for someone else
to tell us what to think, or do we search the Scriptures daily as
the Bereans did? |
