Doctrinal Statement

The Word

The sixty-six books of the Bible are the God-breathed, inerrant, infallible words of God given through the Holy Spirit through human authors (2 Tm. 3:16; 2 Pt. 1:20-21).

God

There is one living and true God who is the Creator and is infinite and perfect in all His attributes. He exists in three Persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Gn. 1:1-31; Ex. 3:14; Dt. 6:4; Jn. 1:1-18; 4:24).

Father

God the Father is the absolute and highest ruler in the universe. He is sovereign, omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient (Ps. 139; 1 Cor. 8:6; Job 1:6; Rm. 11:33).

Son

God the Son is Jesus Christ. He is coequal, consubstantial and coeternal with the Father. He was voluntarily virgin born, in order to bring about our redemption through His voluntary death on the cross thus freeing the believing sinner from the punishment, penalty, power and some day the presence of sin (Jn. 1:1-18; 10:27-30; 14:9; Phil. 2:5-8).

After His physical resurrection He ascended to the right hand of the Father where He is now our Advocate and High Priest. He is the head of the Church, His Body, and will some day return to receive the Church at the Rapture (1 Jn. 5:20; Rm. 3:25; 5:8; 1 Pet. 2:24; Ep. 1:22; 5:23; Col. 1:18). He is the mediator between God and man and the final judge of all who do not place their trust in Him as Lord of life and the only Savior (Jn. 5:22-23; 1 Tm. 2:5).

Holy Spirit

God the Holy Spirit is the third person in the eternal trinity. He is also coequal, consubstantial and coeternal with the Father and the Son. Today He is indwelling, sanctifying, instructing and empowering believers for righteous living and for service. (Acts 5:3-4; Gn. 1:2; Mt. 1:18; 2 Pt. 1:20-21; Jn. 3:5-7)

Man

Man was directly and immediately created by God in His image and likeness, free from sin with self-determination and moral responsibility. He was created to enjoy God's fellowship and glorify God. (Gn. 1:15-25; 1 Thess. 5:23)

Adam's sin of disobedience resulted in the penalty of spiritual and physical death which passed to all men and therefore all are hopelessly lost and separated from God eternally except for salvation by the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ (Gn. 2:16-17; 3:1-19; Rm. 3:23; 6:23).

Salvation is wholly of God by grace, through the redemption of Jesus Christ by His shed blood; not by human merit or works. (Ep. 2:1-3)

It is instantaneous, by the power of the Holy Spirit, through the Word of God. (Jn 5:24; 1 Pt. 1:23)

It is manifested by repentance, faith and righteous living (1 Cor. 6:19-20; Ep. 2:10; 5:17-21; Col. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:4-9; 2 Cor. 3:18; 1 Jn. 3:2-3).

Once a person is saved they are kept by God's power and are secure in Christ forever (Jn. 5:24; Rm. 5:9-10).

Believers should be separated unto the Lord Jesus Christ in such a way as to bring glory and honor to their Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ (Rm. 12:1-2).

There will be a bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment (1 Thess. 4:15-5:11; 1 Cor. 3:11-15; Rm. 14:10-13; Mt. 25:41; Rev. 20:11-15).
