Preschool Room Arrangement

There are many sizes, shapes and conditions of classrooms. For the moment, what you have is what God has given you. Within the limitations of time, resources and your leadership's guidance there are several things to think about and arrange. Your first priority is to be a good steward of what God has given you. Then think about how to minister to your children. The following information will give you some guidance.

Notes

A child's entrance into the room should be pleasant and inviting. A container for offerings should be near the door. Quiet activities (puzzles, books, etc.) should be grouped together. Home living and block areas should allow sufficent space for movement. One area should be large enough for the whole class to meet together for events such as storytelling and singing.

There should ideally be 25-30 square feet per child. Visually open spaces will promote running, while cozy sections provide security and variety.
