Small Preschool Group: Verse - When

When to Present

When should a verse be presented? The verse may be presented at a number of different times during the morning or you may consistently present it following the story. Be careful to allow the children sufficient physical movement when the verse directly follows the story.

Home Memory Work

What about memory work at home? Parents can work with their children on further memory work if they so desire. When a child comes with a verse memorized, be sure to listen to the child with undivided attention.

Examples

Frequently use a creative presentation for fun and variety.

  • Present the verse with a special puppet; for instance, a sock puppet like "Barney the Bible Verse Dog" who emerges from his dog house at Bible verse time.

  • Make two identical puzzles of the verse for children to assemble, including the reference. (Make one puzzle complete and assemble the pieces of the other puzzle on top of the completed puzzle. Repeat the word or words of the verse each time a piece is added.) Sometimes you may want to distribute pieces around the room for children to find.

  • Put verse words on 3x5 cards and place them in envelopes for children to open.

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
