Parental Responsibility

Primary Responsibility

Deuteronomy 6 begins with Moses telling the people why God had told him what to teach the people. Verse 2 begins with "that," or "so that," meaning "in order that." Moses taught the people so that the next generations would fear the Lord their God and keep all His commandments. In verse 5 he says that they should love the Lord their God with all their heart, soul and might. That is the primary responsibility. God's Word was to be on their hearts. His words were to be molding their lives.

No Shortcuts

There are no shortcuts to fulfilling the primary parental responsibilty. But we must not be overwhelmed by trying to do everything at once. God does not give us more than He and we together can handle. As you search out the Scripture, God will be faithful to reveal to you what you need (Pr. 2:1-9) because He is faithful to His Word. You will learn day by day as you spend time with God in His Word. God will specifically design applications to fit your life as you take His words to heart. His mercy and grace are sufficient to sustain you as you pursue Him.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
