Small Preschool Group: Introduction

Introduction

Activities are divided into categories with some suggestions for use. Some activities can be used for either a large or a small group. Guided centers should be used in a small group.

Objective

Activities should constructively reinforce the story and focus of the day in a positive, enjoyable manner. They should communicate God's truth using each of the five senses as often as possible and should provide opportunities for creativity, learning and growth. Your goal is not to provide entertainment, but to plant and water seeds of God's truth each week.

Why So Many?

Having several types of activities helps provide for children with various backgrounds, bents, and abilities. Not all children will enjoy everything, but you should be able to provide a variety of activities which will excite each child in some way. For active children limit the options and increase them as control is achieved.

Prepare an Introductory Statement

Prepare an introductory statement which can be communicated to each child some time during the activity to direct them towards the lesson. Help the children see how the activity reinforces the lesson.

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
