Large Primary/Junior Group: Ask Questions

Format: Ask questions immediately following the lesson summary according to the passage sequence. For students who have trouble answering questions, ask them questions you know they can answer. Try to allow each student to answer a question. In a large class you may want to allow some group answers for the sake of time and attention spans.

As students grasp the facts in the large group, those facts can be used effectively in small groups to discover the principles that can be applied in every day life.

You may use some of the same questions in following weeks as a review quiz format. See the Tools section for moderating a quiz.

Praise: Present questions in a pleasant, encouraging manner. Help the students be successful, and praise them when they are. You are looking for accomplishment to reward, rather than failure to punish.
