Presenting the Story: Toddler Story

When your child is ready to listen to a short story, he is ready to listen to short Bible stories and even short passages from the Bible.

Day 1: Choose a time when both you and your toddler are somewhat rested and alert. Just before bedtime may be a good time if your child is not overly tired. Read the story to your toddler while he or she looks at the picture. Ask one or two questions. Keep this time short and enjoyable. Try different times to see what seems to work best for both of you. Be flexible in order to allow for schedule variations, but keep it a high priority.

Day 2: Read some of the passage while your child listens, colors a picture, eats a snack, etc. Some children enjoy sitting beside Dad or Mom and listening to a story while they look at the pictures. Others want to have their hands full but can listen just as attentively. In fact, some learn even more when their hands are full. Try different methods to learn what works for your child. Also keep this time short and enjoyable. The time they can listen will gradually increase.

Day 3: Have your child tell you about the picture. Ask some questions to stimulate your child's thinking. Reread the story to them.

Day 4: Review story truths and read more of the passage.

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
