What is The Trojan Horse in Christian Education? PDF Print E-mail

"Trojan horse" is a term designated to something that appears to have a positive effect when it actually has an unexpected harmful effect.

It is derived from the Trojan War, in which the Greeks offered a "peace offering" of a large wooden horse.  The Trojans did not realize Greek soldiers were hiding inside it, and once they brought it inside their city, the Greek soldiers emerged, opened the gates for their comrades, and together they conquered the unsuspecting Trojans.

Just as the Trojans did not expect that warfare, so we Christians also have been surreptitiously advanced upon.  This battle has not been for flesh and blood, but for our minds and hearts.  Our book is a thorough survey of the history of philosophy and how it affects Christian education, especially children's materials.  If you've ever wondered why teachers and those who train them approach education the way they do, this book will provide tremendous insight.

The Trojan Horse in Christian Education has been reviewed and recommended by The Old Schoolhouse, a magazine for homeschool families.  You may read their review here.
